Where the Sacred Dwells: Indigenous Wisdom and Everyday Mysticism
Webinar - Register here
Mysticism is often imagined as rare, distant, or reserved for extraordinary spiritual figures. Yet the sacred also reveals itself in the ordinary rhythms of daily life—in memory, culture, creation, struggle, relationship, and hope. In this 60-minute panel, Jojo Fung, S.J., Ph.D. (assistant professor of systematic theology, Loyola School of Theology), and Yenny Delgado (doctoral candidate, University of Lausanne) will explore everyday mysticism through the wisdom of Indigenous theologies. Fr. Fung brings particular attention to the spiritualities and lived experiences of Indigenous and Asian communities, while Delgado draws from the theological wisdom of Abya Yala. Together, they will reflect on how the Divine is encountered in lo cotidiano—the everyday—and how such encounters can shape contemplation, justice, and public witness. The conversation will be moderated by Brenda Noriega, Ph.D., of Boston College’s Clough School of Theology and Ministry.
