About this event
Want to feel the wind whistling through your helmet as you rip down some amazing Central New York mountain bike trails? Join us for Mountain Biking and learn the skills you need to confidently ride singletrack like a pro! Whether you’re brand new to the sport or looking to level up, this course will teach you the fundamentals of body position, braking, shifting, climbing, descending, and smoothly navigating natural features like rocks, roots, and logs.
You’ll also gain essential trail know-how, including how to perform a bike safety check, fix a flat tire, and navigate trail systems with confidence. Classes take place at a variety of local trail systems, giving you the chance to explore new terrain while building your skills.
Please note: Participants must be able to comfortably ride a bike. While this course is geared toward beginners to mountain biking, it takes place on narrow, uneven singletrack trails; so basic bike handling skills are a must.
No bike? No problem! Rental bikes are available for $60 (one time fee). Just bring your sense of adventure and get ready to ride!
This class cannot be taken for Cornell PE Credit
Course FeeWellness Recreation or CFC Fitness Center Member: $285
