Event details Date: Wednesday, July 15, 2026 Time: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Location: Online Type: Lecture / Workshop Department: Division of Human Resources – Wellbeing Contact: worklife@cornell.edu About this event Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 11:00 am, virtual Register All in Cornell Community are welcome Hosted by Cornell Work/Life and Faculty Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) Not all grief comes from losing a person. In a world shifting faster than we can process, many of us are carrying quieter, less‑acknowledged forms of loss that can go unnamed. Perhaps you feel something in this moment and want to explore your experience of loss of certainty, of stability, of connection, of community. This workshop, facilitated by Jennelle Liljestrand from FSAP, will create a space to name, explore, and normalize these forms of “hidden loss.” Through guided reflection and discussion, participants will learn to recognize and understand the emotions that arise in times of unsettling change. By tuning into what those feelings are signaling, attendees will identify self‑care strategies and supportive practices that genuinely meet their needs. Whether you're navigating fractured relationships, workplace changes or the uncertainty of a volatile world, this gathering offers a compassionate pause. We will have space to acknowledge what’s heavy, deepen our own emotional awareness, and reconnect with what’s steady so you can find tools for moving forward with resilience. Jennelle Liljestrand has served as a counselor for the Cornell Faculty & Staff since August 2025, offering clinical services to individuals and couples and leading the Grief Group at FSAP. Jennelle holds a Master in Social Work from Smith (2013) and previously practiced in diverse private and public settings in Munich, Germany. Jennelle considers herself an integrative therapist, pulling from several theories and methods, and is eager to support our Cornell Community as they navigate hidden losses. Register here for this event. Contact the Work/Life Team at worklife@cornell.edu with questions prior to the workshop.
