Eliot Burk performs the 1287 five-note chords possible in one octave (an excerpt from Tom Johnson's The Chord Catalogue) on clavichord, at a speed of one-chord-per-minute. On each day for nine days, a group of chords with the same high note will be played. Each group of chords will be located in a different building, sequentially circumnavigating the Arts Quadrangle:8/10, 1:11pm to 1:12pm, high note E, in a trash room;8/11, 1:08pm to 1:13pm, high note F, in an upper corner;8/12, 1:05pm to 1:17pm, high note F#, in a storage closet;8/13, 12:54pm to 1:26pm, high note G, in a stairwell nook;8/14, 12:36pm to 1:43pm, high note G#, in a mail closet;8/15, 12:08pm to 2:11pm, high note A, behind a stairwell;8/16, 11:31am to 2:48pm, high note A#, at the top of a 7-story staircase;8/17, 10:26am to 3:54pm, high note B, near the top of another building;8/18, 9:02am to 5:15pm, high note C, underground somewhere.
