Event details Date: Thursday, October 22, 2026 Time: 11:00 PM Location: Kelly Commons, Room 4C Type: Campus Event About this event How did German Protestants view their Jewish neighbors in the wake of the Second World War and the Holocaust? This talk will examine, first, how Pastor Hermann Diem called his fellow Protestants to love their enemies (for many, the American occupiers) rather than seeking revenge on them. Diem’s commitment to love for one’s enemy will be contrasted with that of elder statesman and leader of the Protestant Church Theophil Wurm’s cutting critiques of supposed Allied injustices, together with his support for antisemites and war criminals - like Martin Sandberger, pictured above - during the era of denazification and the Nuremberg Trials Official event details: https://inside.manhattan.edu/calendar.php?trumbaEmbed=view%3devent%26eventid%3d1397396137
