Event details Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026 Time: 9:00 AM to 9:00 AM Location: UC Berkeley School of Education, 2121 Berkeley Way, Berkeley, CA Type: Lecture / Workshop About this event Fostering Connections Conference brings together writing instructors from different grade levels to discuss, learn about, and improve teaching writing practices. This is a full day conference, 9am-5pm. The conference includes hour-long workshops, keynote, and panel discussions about issues with the teaching of writing. Our theme this year is “Fostering Innovation.” Our keynote speaker is Dr. Kristen Hawley Turner from Drew University. The conference sponsors are the Bay Area Writing Project, College Writing Programs, and the Townsend Center for the Humanities.
