Blending poetry, jazz, soul, blues, and hip hop, monet weaves together spoken word and song in work that explores themes of love, memory, resistance, and joy. Following her memorable ArtPower debut, the Grammy-nominated artist, author, and cultural organizer returns with her live band for a larger-scale performance that transforms personal stories into shared experiences. Opening the program are Josh Lane of Thee Sacred Souls and Def Sound, whose genre-blurring work helps set the stage for an unforgettable night of poetry, music, and storytelling.
