Invited Speakers Main Conference Dorothy Ahn (Rutgers University) Minju Kim (Claremont McKenna College) Daiko Takahashi (Tohoku University) Jae DiBello Takeuchi (Indiana University Bloomington) Pre-Conference Workshop/Tutorial “Working with Japanese spoken corpora and tools” (tentative title) By Michiko Kaneyasu (UCLA), Tsuyoshi Ono (University of Alberta), Yasuyuki Usuda (Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology), & Tomoko Endo (The University of Tokyo) The time of the workshop: 3-5:30 pm (CDT) / 5-7:30 am on Aug. 7 (Tokyo) Korean workshop (TBD) By Gyu-Ho Shin (University of Illinois Chicago) and Hakyung Sung (Rochester Institute of Technology) Abstract Submission We welcome abstract submissions for 20-minute oral presentations, followed by 10 minutes for discussion, and for poster presentations. Contributions to any aspect of Japanese/Korean linguistics, or comparison of these languages with other languages welcome. We welcome abstracts showcasing the value of diverse approaches, methodologies, and data sources. Comparative studies of Japanese and Korean, or of broadly formal and functional approaches to selected phenomena in the languages, are especially encouraged. Abstracts are not to exceed two pages of A4 or letter-sized (8.5″x 11″) paper, including data and references, with 1″ margins on all sides and single spacing, set in a font no smaller than 11 points. The abstract should have a clear title but should not identify the author(s). The abstract must be submitted electronically in PDF format, using the submission website accessible through the ‘Submit Abstract’ button below.
